To strengthen our team - the Food Data Group - we are looking for a
Doctoral Student (m/w/x)
to work on a project on the topic: „Life Cycle Assessment of Alternative Protein Sources“

 

We offer the possibility of independently handling a 2-year project (with the possibility of extension) in the field of life cycle assessment in an innovative and exciting environment.

Future food systems depend on the development of future foods based on alternative protein sources. There are some strategies that can improve the sustainability of alternative protein sources.
At the same time there is a limited information on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of alternative protein sources for the justified conclusions.


The proposed position is aimed to deal with the limitations indicated above in the scope of EU funded project GiantLeaps.

The details of the project will be discussed in further consultation.

Areas of responsibility
  • Life Cycle Assessment / Life Cycle Costing / Sustainability Assessment
  • Modelling and working with databases
  • Supporting member companies with relevant services
Your profile
  • Systems thinking (life cycle thinking)
  • Ability to carry out cost benefit analysis and similar models
  • Previous know-how with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
  • Experience in the fields of food, agriculture, food science and technology, and environmental engineering would be an advantage
  • Independent, committed and a team player
  • Excellent English
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage
