Visit of Dr. Sivashankar (Siva) Krishnamoorthy at DIL

Dr. Krishnamoorthy is currently a senior R&T staff member in the Materials Research and Technology (MRT) department at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).

On May 15, Dr. Sivashankar (Siva) Krishnamoorthy was invited to visit the Department of Biotechnology and the DIL in general. Dr. Krishnamoorthy is currently a senior R&T staff member in the Materials Research and Technology (MRT) department at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). His research interests include the development of successful nanotechnologies for various applications, including food.

With over 20 years of experience in research and development of advanced nanotechnologies, Dr. Sivashankar (Siva) Krishnamoorthy has gained extensive knowledge in the areas of micro/nanofabrication, bio-interfacing, nano-optics and functional integration of nanostructured materials into optical and electronic devices such as light emitting diodes, flash memory, plasmonic devices and nanobiosensors. Dr. Krishnamoorthy has worked in technology development environments for several years, actively leading the research, development and translation of fundamental scientific work into practical applications. His professional career spans five countries and includes numerous significant achievements. Currently, Dr. Krishnamoorthy has the scientific, technical, strategic and organizational responsibility for an interdisciplinary and multicultural research team in the Department of Materials Science and Technology at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology.

Dr. Sivashankar (Siva) Krishnamoorthy had the opportunity to meet with heads of different departments of the DIL (Dr. Volker Lammers, Prof. Dr. Kemal Aganovic, Dr. Ing. Guo Xiaoai, Dr. Christian Hertel) and learn about the different research interests and activities of the DIL in the respective departments.

The Biotechnology and other departments of DIL are looking forward to collaborating with Dr. Krishnamoorthy from MRI and other departments of LIST in the form of joint research projects.
