DIL invites public to visit new plant Employees are proud to present their new facilities

Quakenbrück. At the German Institute of Food Technologies, the party is breaking up these days. First employees already moved into their new facilities across the Prof. von Klitzing Straße. Others are sitting on their packed suitcases looking forward to the moving in the coming days. Recently, it has been agreed that the new buildings will be presented to the public on Friday, 2 September 2011.

Due to ongoing construction work at DIL and important national as well as international conferences scheduled in October, there will be no official opening of the new facilities this year. Among others, iFOOD2011 will take place. DIL already received more than 100 registrations. Moreover, a lot of other applications are expected.

“We would like to present our institute to a broad public“, said Dr. Volker Heinz, director of the institute. “For this reason, we cordially invite every interested citizen to visit us on 2 September 2011“. From 2 pm until 6 pm walkarounds and presentations of all divisions of the institute are planned. DIL experts will elucidate interesting research fields and show innovative plants and techniques.

Besides practical presentations and concrete examples, regular presentations about the institute’s new structures, its tasks and developments as well as its future plans will be given. Examples from robotic, the production of peanut flips and apple juice will be presented. Furthermore, the new laboratories of the business field Food Physics can be visited.

In the evening, a summer party for DIL employees will be hold in the new facilities as expression of happiness about these new perspectives and additional spaces inside the institute.

The official opening next year shall be connected with a scientific conference. DIL would like to present its new opportunities to international researchers as well as manufacturers. For this purpose, the conference provides an appropriate setting.
