“European Factories of the Future Research Association” (EFFRA) is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the private European sector. Its purpose is to facilitate research and development within the European manufacturing industries. EFFRA counts more than 100 members. Within the 7th EU R&D Framework Programme about 645 Mio. Euros were made available for the initiative.
Now, also DIL has become a member of the young research alliance. The institute is already involved in the EU project “FoodManufuture” which is closely linked to EFFRA. DIL will benefit from the network by identification of new project partners and by contributing with its knowhow in the upcoming research priorities such as “Advanced manufacturing processes“, “Adaptive and smart manufacturing systems“ and “Digital, virtual and resource-efficient factories“.
