In our team “Advanced Technologies” at DIL German Institute of Food Technologies we are looking for a Master student (m/w/x) for completion of a
Master Thesis
on the topic Optimising the nutritional bioavailability of lignocellulose-rich grass biomass as a sustainable substrate for black soldier fly larvae via pretreatment approaches

The insect digestion of lignocellulosic organic materials is one of the main problems we want to solve. To make these materials more suitable as insect substrate, pre-treatment processes are needed. In order to maximise effectiveness and sustainability, our study investigates a variety of pre-treatment techniques, including mechanical, co-digestion, biological, thermal, chemical, and combinations thereof.
