Federal support for innovative enterprises

The German Federal Government and its Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology intend to sustainably support the innovation potential and competitiveness of enterprises with the “Central Innovation Program for SMEs” (ZIM, Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand). Technological developments, in particular the ones arising from the cooperation between industry and research institutes, shall be launched as quickly as possible. The funds available for this support (1.5bn Euro in 2009 and 2010) shall help minimize technical and economical risks.

For many years, the DIL is drawing on this support and its immediate predecessors (Pro Inno I and II) for the benefit of the companies involved. Within this project scope, funds in the amount of 2.2m Euro have already been raised for market-oriented research and development. Including DIL, currently five ZIM projects have been applied for or are already underway.

The ZIM support program, formerly restricted to SMEs only, is now for a limited time open to larger companies as well.

If you are interested in this type of support, please contact us. Your DIL contact in this matter is Dr.-Ing. Achim Knoch.
