New DIL office in Brussels
To demonstrate the ongoing internationalization efforts of its research activities, DIL is now moving towards Brussels. As per 1 October 2009, DIL will have a permanent representative in the EU district of the Belgian capital. Dr. Kerstin Lienemann will assume this important contact and coordination function. She studied agricultural biology at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, and completed her doctorate in agricultural science at the University of Bonn. In the past three years, Dr. Lienemann has already been working at the EU liaison office of the Research Group of the German Food Industry (FEI) in Brussels.
Her responsibilities will include the coordination and management of DIL’s EU projects. Added to this, the office in Brussels will be the main hub for the Excellence Network “HighTech Europe”, coordinated by DIL.
An interesting point for the members of DIL is that there is now a competent contact person to assist companies in applying for EU programs for the support and funding of SMEs.
The DIL in Brussels (47-51, Rue du Luxembourg, 1050 Brussels, Belgium) is sharing its office with many other German associations. Dr. Lienemann can be contacted by e-mail: k.lienemann@dil-ev.de
