Innovative processing with microwaves

Microwave ovens are well-known and established household appliances with a series of advantages. They are now increasingly used for industrial processing as well because they can do more than just heat products. Benefits in process control are short response times and high reliability. Because the energy is introduced directly into the material, such plants use only very little energy which minimizes the operational costs. They are also easy to operate and their footprint is small compared to conventional equipment. The benefits of this technology are quite evident and their possible application range is broad.

Common areas of application in food technology include:

  • Drying
  • Heating
  • Melting
  • Thawing

Within the scope of a cooperation with the company Linn High Therm GmbH, Eschenfelden, Germany, there is the opportunity to test a technical scale microwave plant with your product at DIL. The unit has a performance of 11.2 kW and can be used for quick and homogeneous heating, melting, thawing and drying of a large number of products. Our experts are ready to assist you in determining an optimum process with correct parameters.
