First overseas AMP member in HighTech Europe

On November 25th the Taiwanese research institute Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC, Taiwan) became member of the Associated Membership Platform (AMP) HighTech Europe. During a five day stay in Germany MIRDC visited DIL and Yung-Chen Wu, chief of the Intelligent System Section, signed the Memorandum of Understanding of the AMP.

MIRDC is a non-profit research institute with main expertise in machinery and metals. They are working in close collaboration with the Taiwanese industry. Production value of the Taiwanese food is about 14 billion US$ and biggest food industries are the production of frozen food, soft drinks, animal feeds and also slaughtering. Frozen food is also the largest export item of Taiwan. MIRDC is looking forward to strengthen its research collaboration in food processing with Europe.

HighTech Europe establishes an Associated Membership Platform (AMP) to open the network to interested stakeholders, to involve them into HighTech Europe activities and to broaden the expertise of the network. The membership in the HighTech Europe AMP serves as basis for future joint activities in order to establish a European Institute of Food Processing.
