Anuga FoodTec trade fair started in Cologne (Germany) – DIL’s booth was visited by a lot of international experts
Cologne. On Wednesday, March 10th 2009 “Anuga FoodTec”-fair opened its door in Cologne (Germany). The international trade fair for food and beverages counted more visitors than the previous time. Anuga FoodTec is the only international trade fair which presents all branches of the food and average industry. 1.194 exhibitors out of 39 countries present their business activities and innovations.
The German Institute for Food Technologies (DIL) from Quakenbrueck in Lower Saxony is presenting 3 special events during the fair.
During the first day of the fair Dr. Achim Knoch received at DIL’s booth in hall 8.1
a lot of people interested in the information and presentation of the German research institute. “I am surprised how many interested people contact us here in order to get information concerning our institute and the different projects which are under the way.” summarizes Dr. Knoch his first experiences.
Dr. Knut Franke is representing DIL at the „Robotic Pack Line“ a large scale special event located also in hall 8.1. This specific robotic line was built up first time and tested in Quakenbrück before the installation in Cologne. It will produce and pack ready-to-eat Hamburgers fully automatically.
One highlight of the fair will be the DIL-Symposium „High Pressure Food Processing“ on Thursday, March 12th. Dr. Volker Heinz, head of DIL, has received about 50 participants who have already applied for the event. “We expect even more experts on Thursday.” Dr. Heinz points out his speculation. Then this event would be certainly one of the highlights of the Anuga FoodTec fair.
At the same day also representatives of DIL’s supervisory board, the County and the business development agency of Osnabrueck as well as of the hometown Quakenbrueck will visit the fair and the people of the German Institute of Food Processing Technology.
