17. International exhibition of food, beverages and raw materials

The largest annual food exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe of this year will take place February 8-12, 2010. The DIL participates in the ProdExpo within the scope of a joint stand. Besides the DIL, 28 other German companies will also be present at that stand organized by the Federal Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Consumer Production thus taking advantage of the possibility to present their core competencies to the Russia market participants.
 
With its presence at the exhibition, the DIL will highlight in particular its experience in product development and innovative technologies including high pressure technology and pulsed electrical fields. The Russian market is constantly growing and has a large potential especially in the fields product development and food technology.
 
The DIL has already completed some projects within the Russian economic area and aims a expanding its activities. In particular the SMEs from the German food industry may benefit from the positive development of the Russian food market but are hesitant to enter this unknown market, which offers not yet discovered opportunities as Germany is one of the most important food trade partners for Russia.

The ProdExpo plays an important role in the activation and stimulation of the Russian food industry. Target is the promotion of high quality food and with that an improvement of the quality of life of the Russian population. In 2009, 1,800 exhibiting companies from 57 countries participated in the ProdExpo. The organizers offer a comprehensive business program on the fringe of the exhibition. It includes seminars and forums under participation of the Russian Ministry for Agriculture.
