iFOOD2011 Becomes Regular Conference
International visitors expected in Osnabrück and Quakenbrück
Quakenbrück. The German Institue of Food Technology (DIL) views itself as mediator between research and application, between science and food industry. For the most part, its members and clients are food businesses and research institutes. The DIL cares for the global transfer of knowledge and expertise regarding the food industry. Global conferences, in which innovative developments of the specific branches are discussed, play an important role at that.
In October 2011, the iFOOD2011-Innovation Food Conference will be launched. Beneath this roof, future events will be pooled in order to provide visitors a more efficient way of information exchange.
Often, scientists and technologist have to accept long journeys around the world to participate in international congresses in order to gain insights from recent research. To reduce efforts for participants, the DIL launched a series of events with a collaborative organization.
In this context, the DIL does not only benefit of its worldwide contacts and cooperation, but also of its involvement in international networks, such as Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and HighTech Europe.
In line with this, iFood2011 will combine three events:
- NPDW Nonthermal Processing Division Workshop 2011
- ANUGA, the world’s leading food fair in Cologne
- HighTech Europe Workshop“ High Tech Food Innovation“
To participants, the DIL offers a guided tour of the ANUGA with specific presentations of single enterprises at their stands. Afterwards, the transfer of guests to the IFT-workshop in Osnabrück will be arranged with a DIL-bus. The workshop also involves one day at the DIL in Quakenbrück. Besides the congress agenda, receptions at the „Friedenssaal“ (townhall of Osnabrück), the “Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt“ as well as a guided tour of the Museum “Varusschlacht“ (Battle of the Teutoburg Forest) are scheduled.
The workshhops will take place at the DIL in Quakenbrück as well as at the ZUK in Osnabrück because the accommodation of all visitors in Artland was not feasible.
“With the iFood2011, we further develop the research location in the northwestern metropolitan area and promote it internationally.”, Dr. Volker Heinz, director of the DIL, summarizes his ambition.
“In this way, we can vitalize our international cooperation.“
